The idea of ‘building a bridge to help others’ is not new. After spending more than 30 years working in human resources, the areas I enjoyed most were career management, learning and development and employee advocacy. As I worked across the functional areas of HR, I delighted in helping people see themselves and better understand their gifts as it relates to their work life. I wanted to be an instrument for change and helping them shift their thinking from ‘getting a job to pay the bills’ to being intentional about  focusing on a career as a calling and a learning journey. As my career progressed and I was blessed with the power and authority to hire and inspire people, I also felt a personal responsibility to open doors, advocate, and prepare and place talent to meet the organizations’ needs.

Along the way, my life and journey has been so powerfully impacted by coaches, peers and mentors who cared enough to pour into me, check me when I was wrong and often became the bridge to calmer waters when I stepped on an organizational landmine. Never least in the success equation is my faith in God, which sustains and grounds me as I go forward with my own purpose to build and be a bridge for others. As the saying goes, no (wo)man is an island.

Bridge Braintrust was born with a foundational ethos of helping to connect people, purpose, and possibilities.
